The IDC is split into two component parts, the PADI Assistant Instructor course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. The full breakdown of costs/prices are below. It can seem confusing to work out what you exactly need to do and pay for, get in touch and we can talk you through the whole process. (OWSI Price includes the AI price, you don't pay both).

As an Assistant Instructor you will be able to independently teach a lot of elements in the Open Water course as well as the very rewarding Peak Performance Buoyancy course, Bubblemaker and Seal Team experiences.

Assistant Instructors are now also able to Instruct a bigger range of PADI specialties that we are able to teach you. These include Coral Reef Conservation, Project AWARE Specialist, Digital Underwater Photography, Emergency O2 Provider, EFR and Equipment Specialist making you a more marketable and versatile PADI Professional.

As an OWSI you can teach the full compliment of core PADI courses - Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue and Divemaster as well as the Peak Performance Buoyancy, ProjectAWARE and AWARE Coral Reef Conservation courses.

You will also have been certified as an EFR Instructor which adds to your versatility and earning potential as a PADI Pro.

There are countless other courses you can train in as an OWSI in the form of specialties from Wreck and Deep to AWARE Shark Conservation and Underwater Naturalist. The more you do, the more versatile you'll be as an instructor and the more fun you'll have along the way!

IDC Staff Instructor course - £499

Designed to provide PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers with the additional training necessary to staff PADI Instructor Development programs. Just as scuba divers look up to divemasters, instructor candidates really respect IDC Staff Instructors. As the name implies, IDC Staff Instructors assist with instructor training and share their wisdom and experience with the new PADI leaders. Taking the IDC Staff Instructor course provides you with in-depth knowledge of the instructor development process and prepares you to shape the next generation of PADI Professionals. It’s also a great career move.

The course consists of a training and evaluation program which is followed by candidates presenting components of the Assistant Instructor course. It is very flexible and the academic and confined water sessions are conducted by one of our Course Directors. There is no open water work with this course. After you have completed the Staff Instructor Course we encourage you to join us on our next IDC to put everything you learn into real world practice.
